Max Ritter von Guttmann, head of the house of Guttmann, died here today at the age of 72. He was related to the Rothschilds and the Montefiores. The Guttmanns were the pioneers in the development of Austria’s mining industry which they now control. He was a famous philanthropist whose gifts compared favorably with those of the Rothschilds.
