A warning not to be misled by the fact that Easter passed quietly in Palestine is contained in an editorial in this week’s “Near East and India.” Drawing attention to the fact that “Jews and Arabs are energetically arming themselves for a second clash,” the “Near East and India” points out that the consequence of such a second clash will be much more serious and urges the government to “make up its mind to the policy it intends to pursue in Palestine and to enunciate it boldly because often since the War the position in the Middle East has been imperilled by the government’s delay in drifting and neglect.”
