The organization of a loan fund to assist applicants for naturalization who are unable to pay the present high fees, was one of the recommendations made by speakers at the Regional Conference on Naturalization and Adult Education for Foreign Born, held at Council House, New York City, in response to the invitation of Mrs. Maurice L. Goldman, Chairman of the Department of Service for Foreign Born, of the National Council of Jewish Women. One hundred and fifteen delegates representing the states of Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Maryland and Pennsylvania, met to discuss the problems arising out of the enforcement of the new naturalization law.
