In the expectation that flying swarms of locusts from neighboring countries will pass through Palestine, all cultivators have been officially warned to be ready to produce rapidly large volumes of smoke, as flying locusts do not settle in smoke covered areas. The Jordan Valley, Jerusalem and Hebron areas are now cleared of the pests and in other areas as well as in Transjordania the work is progressing satisfactorily.
