England will undoubtedly do everything to maintain peace in Palestine and a repetition of the troubles is not to be expected particularly since the Nebi Musa festival passed quietly, declared Maurice Hexter, a member of the Jewish Agency’s Executive in Palestine, in an interview published today in the Vienna “Journal.”
Pointing out that “a permanent state of war is impossible” and that on the other hand “collaboration by the American non-Zionists in the upbuilding of Palestine is ever growing,” Mr. Hexter said that “England will guarantee peace in the future too until a suitable form of peaceful cooperation with the Arabs is worked out.”
He said, too, that the upbuilding work is proceeding chiefly on a private economic basis and that therefore many people are following Felix Warburg’s example and buying and developing Palestine land privately.
