The program for the next biennial convention of the Union of American Hebrew Congregations which is to be held in Philadelphia in January, 1931, was formulated at a meeting of the Program Committee of the Union at the Locust Club here. Rabbi Samuel H. Goldenson of Pittsburgh was appointed keynote speaker for the convention and Judge Horace Stern of Philadelphia was asked to read a paper on “The Synagogue and Its Relation to the Community.”
Among the members of the Committee who were present at the meeting were: Ludwig Vogelstein of New York; Rabbi George Zepin, secretary; Dr. Julian Morgenstern of Cincinnati; Judge Horace Stern; Rabbi Louis Wolsey of Philadelphia; Rabbi Samuel H. Goldenson of Pittsburgh.
