Over 800 houses have been flooded and 3,500 people are homeless as the result of a flood in the Baceau district where a number of rivers have overflowed their banks. Communication between Roman and Piatra has been interrupted and nineteen villages are reported to be under water. Many of the sufferers are Jews.
