A resolution protesting against the violent acts that are at present being perpetrated against the Jews of Roumania and calling for the restoration of law and order and the protection of minority rights, was adopted at a special meeting of the Canadian Alliance of Roumanian Jews held here this week.

Alderman Joseph Schubert, in a speech, pointed out that the atrocities perpetrated against the Jews of Roumania have assumed serious proportions and are equal to the darkest days of Roumania. While in some countries, said the Alderman, such indignities committed against the Jews were usually perpetrated by the lowest ranks in the nation, in Roumania today, however, it is the more dangerous because the inspiring force is Professor Cuza, regarded as an intellectual power, who is backed by students. He also stated that the Roumanian government is quite indifferent about the situation, and in some cases it is even willing to have it continue.
