United States Senator Harry B. Hawes has transmitted on behalf of the Zionist Organization of St. Louis to Secretary of State Stimson in Washington a memorandum and protest against the attitude of the British Government in suspending immigration to Palestine, and for the subsequent issuance of the White Paper. In the memorandum the Government of the United States is appealed to to use its moral power to prevail upon the British Government to respect its obligations under the Palestine Mandate. The memorandum is signed by M. J. Slonim, president of the Zionist Organization of St. Louis; Professor Gustave Klausner, president of the Southwestern Zionist Region, and Mendel N. Fisher, executive secretary.
