Dr. Chaim Weizmann, president of the Jewish Agency for Palestine and of the World Zionist Organization is inclined to favor a special World Zionist Congress but before definitely committing himself will await the final action of the Jewish Agency’s political commission which has been called to meet in London June 23.

This statement was made here today by Dr. Weizmann in a private consultation with leaders of the German Zionist Federation and other Zionist parties including the Zionist Revisionists and the Poale Zion. Among those present were Isaac Grunebaum, Lewin Epstein and Otto Warburg.

The Zionist leaders heard with the greatest interest Dr. Weizmann’s report on the political situation. A number of those present in the informal discussion demanded that the special Zionist Congress be held in September because the Council of the League of Nations will meet then and hence the Congress’ deliberations and actions will carry more weight if held at the same time.
