The United States would be among a group of states to whom the Palestine Mandate would be transferred according to a suggestion made in unofficial but influential quarters, says a Geneva dispatch to the “Morning Post”. The same report says that when the Mandate is relinquished by Great Britain it may perhaps be transferred to the League of Nations itself.

The “Post” says that the fact that the proposal emanates from the Zionists of America indicates the strong current of feeling in Geneva at present. The paper points out “that doubt seems to prevail among the members of the Mandates Commission whether the British government has done all it might for the defence and security of Palestine. Much of the present friction between members of the Commission and the British government may be attributed to active Jewish propaganda, conducted against the British government’s decision to restrict Jewish immigration for a period”.
