One of the highest distinctions that can be conferred upon a Polish citizen by Poland, the order Polonia Restituta, was today bestowed upon Salomea Chawat, a 98-year old Jew who participated in the Polish revolution of 1863. Chawat was decorated following a visit to the Jewish Home for the Aged by M. Hubicki, minister of labor, and M. Szubartowicz.
