HUGE DEMONSTRATION PLANNED

That these decisions come none too soon are evidenced from the announcement that huge demonstrations are planned for August 1 by the Communists in the regions affected by the anti-Semitic disturbances. With the government planning to counteract these demonstrations and the national anti-Semitic organizations also preparing to demonstrate, bloody occurrences are expected.

Twenty Jewish houses were destroyed by a fire last night in Galatz but it had nothing to do with anti-Semitism. According to information from the ministry of the interior the situation in Bereshty where the Jews had feared pogroms during yesterday’s bazaar because of the presence of many armed members of the anti-Semitic youth organization, the Iron Guard, is quiet, a police detachment from Galatz having been sent to maintain order.
