While counsel for Joseph Mizrachi Urphali, the only Jew under the death sentence as a result of last year’s riots, is straining every effort to have him pardoned or at the very least to get a commutation of the death penalty, the Arab newspaper, “Jamal Al Arabia.” writes that “if the government obdurately executed three unfortunate Arabs justice demands the execution of Urphali, who unfortunately is the only condemned Jewish murderer.”

The Arab paper, which is the organ of the Moslem Supreme Council, declares that “public opinion is impatiently awaiting the execution to satisfy the rage filling the hearts of the people.”
