Zeldin Named Zionist National Field Director

Morris A. Zeldin, Jewish communal worker of New York, and identified with the Zionist movement for many years, has been appointed National Field Director of the Zionist Organization of America, according to an announcement issued by Robert Szold, Chairman of the Administration.

In making the announcement of Mr. Zeldin’s appointment, Mr. Szold indicated that the National Field Director would assist him in a number of his administrative tasks. It is understood that Mr. Zeldin will devote himself to securing funds to carry on the work of the organization and will concern himself particularly with the liquidation of the deficit. He will, in addition, have charge of the Zionist speakers’ bureau and will arrange lectures, mass-meetings, and similar functions. In the performance of these duties, Mr. Zeldin will, from time to time, visit various communities throughout the country in order to secure more effective cooperation between the local Zionist districts and the national office.

For many years closely associated with the Zionist movement. Mr. Zeldin was Executive Director of the Keren Hayesod for the Greater New York area when it was first organized. He later held the same office with the United Palestine Appeal. During the past several years he has been devoting himself to his private affairs, although he had also taken a part in the activities of the movement for Palestine.
