Hospital for Joint Diseases Received $1,000,000 Last Year

The Hospital for Joint Diseases received $1,000,000 in bequests during the last year, according to the 23rd annual report of the institution made public today by its president, Frederick Brown. Louis F. Rothschild, treasurer, reported that of this sum $750,000 was from the late Alfred M. Heinsheimer as trust fund for the perpetual maintenance of the Country Home and $250,000 from 27 other persons. The Hospital’s total expenditures during the last year were $750,000.

Of this sum the Federation for the Support of Jewish Philanthropic Societies contributed $146,000 and the United Hospital Fund $18,316, the deficit remaining after the use of these amounts and the earnings of the institution was made up by the board of directors which now consists of 32 members headed by Lewis Straus. Dr. J. J. Golub is director of the hospital.
