Claiming that a Hebrew School which has recently been opened in the East Side of the city is an intrusion on the peace of the neighborhood, a resident of the district has begun suit in Superior Court to restrain the school from conducting future sessions.
In his appeal to the court the plaintiff has claimed that the district is a wholly residential area composed exclusively of homes. He alleges that the school has a registration of from 50 to 75 pupils and its presence next door to his home prevents him from the full enjoyment of his property.
Officials of the school declared that there has been no breach of any rules on their part. The school has been conducted in an orderly and quiet manner and no complaints have been received relative to improper conduct on the part of the pupils.
The school is a branch of the Hebrew School “Tarbuth” and is under the supervision of Chaim Yoffe of this city. To further refute claims that they are breaking any of the city’s zoning laws the officials pointed to the new Junior High School which is now under process of construction within one hundred yards of the present Hebrew school.
