An appeal has been addressed to the Jewish farmers in several states and to families in the rural districts, by the department of Farm and Rural Work, of the National Council of Jewish Women, to enroll their children in classes for Jewish education. Mrs. Abraham H. Arons, National Chairman of this Department, stated in this message to the Jewish farmer, that the Council’s Department seeks to give every child a knowledge of Judaism, Jewish traditions and Jewish literature.
Where conditions make it possible, classes will be conducted, as for several years past, in communities that are the center of a large farm and rural Jewish population. In instances of isolated Jewish families, special provision is made for the consideration of the children. The Jewish educational program of the National Council of Jewish Women in the farm and rural districts, is directed by Miss Sarah L. Liebert, Supervisor of Jewish Education.
In addition to organizing classes, the Council’s Department of Farm and Rural Work trains the children in dramatic presentations for the holyday programs given in the course of a year.
