Rabbi Moses Hyamson of New York today called on President Hoover at the White House and protested against the proposed Eastman calendar reform or any type of calendar reform calculated to infringe upon the fixity of the Jewish or any other Sabbath or religious holidays.

Rabbi Hyamson explained to the President that he was calling not only as a Jew but as one interested in protecting from unwarranted interference all religious beliefs as the proposed calendar reform would affect not only Jewish but the sacred days of the Christian religion as well.
