Will Question Entire Mandates System if British Plan Followed

An inquiry into the operation of the general Mandates system will be required if the British government does not now change its recently formulated policy in Palestine, Senator Anatole de Monzie, former cabinet officer, told the Jewish Telegraphic Agency today. Senator de Monzie revealed that as early as 1919 he expressed his apprehension to Dr. Chaim Weizmann and sought to obtain the Palestine Mandate for France.

Senator de Monzie said that, “if every Mandatory Power has the right to modify its obligations under the Mandate then a general change in the Mandates system is necessary. Being French, I am no less upset than you Jews over the Labor government’s act which must have its sequel. I must add that I am not surprised by events.”
