A movement to unite all Canadian Jewish congregations into one national group has been gaining ground and appears to be on the verge of realization. Toronto has already taken the first step with the organization of a local kehillah.
On Monday, Nov. 17, a dinner will be given by A. Raginsky, president of the B’nai Jacob Synagogue, for the purpose of uniting all local congregations under a single kehillah. Once the local effort is crowned with success, steps will be taken to organize the United Jewish Kehillah of Canada, which is to serve as a medium of Canadian Jewry primarily for religious matters.
