The 150 Jewish laborers employed in the Athlit quarries, mining stone for the Haifa harbor works, may have to violate the Sabbath or else give up their jobs, if a decision promulgated today by High Commissioner Chancellor is permitted to stand. This decision, communicated through the resident engineer, M. Thompson, suspends work on Sunday, hitherto permitted to the Jews in lieu of work on Saturday. The Jewish laborers include a self-contained unit of 90 workers.
