Austria is expected to follow in the footsteps of Germany and prohibit the showing of the American talking picture, All Quiet on the Western Front. A campaign to prevent its showing in Vienna and other cities of Austria has already been started by anti-Semitic groups. The Hackenkreuz societies have called many meetings to protest against the picture.

It is understood that Franz Winkler, minister of the interior, has asked the Berlin authorities to send him the documents on which the Berlin action was based. This action is believed to be preliminary to prohibiting the picture in Austria.

Meanwhile Erich Maria Remarque, author of the book from which the film has been made, is planning to institute legal action against the anti-Semitic papers both here and in Germany who have called him a Jew.
