Mr. Ernest Bevin, the head of the Transport Workers’ Union, and Mr. Middleton, the Assistant Secretary of the British Labour Party, were present and spoke at a farewell gathering given to-night to Mr. Dov Hos, the representative in London of the Palestine Labour Party, on his return to Palestine.
Mr. Kaplansky, who was in the chair, said that Mr. Hos had played a great part in bringing about mutual confidence and friendship between the Palestine and the British Labour movements. Dr. Eder, President of the English Zionist Federation, and Madame Elisheva, the Hebrew poetess, also spoke.
