A Jewish parochial day school is being planned for Florence, which only a few years ago was one of the strongholds of Jewish assimilation in Italy. A society, “Friends of the Jewish Day School,” has been established, and it has sent out a circular to all the Jewish families in Florence in which the value of such a school is pointed out and its great significance for the survival of Judaism in this city is emphasized.
