150 Jewish Settlers, Tourists from America Reach Palestine

One hundred and fifty men, women and children, constituting the largest Jewish group that has come from the United States to Palestine at any one time for several years past, arrived today at Jaffa on the S.S. Providence. They left New York early this month.

Of the total number about thirty heads of families came here as permanent settlers. This group includes 80 people. The remainder are tourists or returning residents. The entire group brought more than $1,500,000 to invest in various Palestine enterprises. Most of these new arrivals are so-called middle class settlers.

Among the settlers and visitors are Isidore Barbanell and family, Mr. and Mrs. David Finkelstein, I. Laterman, Tauba Leifer, Rabbi Abraham Levine, Nathan Levitt and family, N. Lefkowitz, Sulamith Lipman, Ethel Rashgolin, Elias Panman, Jacob Pincus and family, Mr. and Mrs. Hyman Rosen, Victor Rosenthal, Meyer Schaffer, Isidore Schneiderman, Samuel Schniderman and family, Alice Siegel, Pincus Sobleson, S. Antolovsky, David Krieger, S. Hutt, Rabbi M. Weidenbaum, Louis Shapiro, Abraham Martin, H. Malter, Benjamin Hurwitz, H. Shinensky, A. Feldman, Mr. and Mrs. R. Gornostaisky, Mr. and Mrs. Mishkin.
