Nazis stormed several streets in Leipzig today inhabited by Jews and then proceeded to attack a Jewish cafe where the frightened Jews had sought shelter.
A group of Communists came to the rescue of the Jews and held back their attackers until police arrived. The Nazis made good their escape and no arrests were made.
The evening press reports today that the country may be put under civil martial law with the death penalty imposed for acts of terrorization as a means of combatting the terror wave which is sweeping the land.
