Several hundred men and women participated in a memorial meeting honoring the late Professor Boris Schatz, Palestinian artist and craftsman, at Temple B’nai B’rith, where a few months earlier an exhibition of his work was held.

Rabbi Jacob Kohn of Temple Sinai delivered the memorial address, in which he emphasized the influence of Prof. Schatz’ work in the renaissance of Jewish art. The meeting was opened by Herman A. Bachrack, president of the Los Angeles Zionist District, and Aaron Riche, a member of the national executive committee of the Zionist Organization of America, made an appeal for funds to aid in sending the body of the artist, which is now interred in Denver, back to Palestine. The meeting was organized with the aid of Mrs. Jules Kauffman, a member of the Los Angeles City Art Commission.
