A dinner was given here to S. Blank, Hebrew short story writer to celebrate the publication of a new volume, containing six short stories, under local auspices. This is the first Hebrew volume published under local auspices.

The book is entitled “B’shaath Herum” — “In Days of Chaos” and contains six stories of Jewish experiences during the world war and immediately thereafter.

The publication of the volume was made possible through the generosity of Jay Emanuel, prominent in the motion picture industry, who became interested in the matter through Rabbi Simon Greenberg of Har Zion Congregation. The volume is dedicated to the memory of Mrs. Fannie Satinsky, mother of Mr. Emanuel.

Mr. Blank is the author of a number of short stories which have appeared in various Hebrew journals and magazines. He has also published the first two volumes of a trilogy on which he is now engaged.
