Maxwell L. Black, attorney who on Dec. 23 was appointed Assistant Attorney General of Michigan by Attorney General Patrick H. O’Brien, was given another important appointment by Governor William Comstock.
At the recommendation of Mr. O’Brien, Governor Comstock appointed Mr. Black as State Public Administrator. Mr. Black will have charge of all funds subject to escheat, and of estates that have no heirs, no known claimants or whose heirs are abroad.
Mr. Black is given the power, at his discretion, to appoint county administrators throughout the state.
Coming to Detroit seven years ago, Mr. Black previous to that time practiced law in Boston and Lawrence, Mass. He is the president of the Five Cent Kosher Kitchen here, is an ardent Zionist, formerly having served on the executive board of the Zionist District. He also served on a number of committees of the Jewish Welfare Federation.
