Dr. Chaim Weizmann, former President of the Jewish Agency, who has arrived in Palestine, was met at Lud Junction by all the members of the Zionist Executive and of the Vaad Leumi, which is the Executive of the Jewish National Assembly. Dr. Weizmann, who came by way of Egypt, went direct to Haifa without turning aside for a visit to Jerusalem. It is understood that he proposes to spend Passover with his mother, who resides in Palestine.
Simultaneously with the arrival of Dr. Weizmann, the Labor section of the Zionist Executive is demanding the withdrawal of H. Farbstein, who represents the Mizrachi on the Executive. He is charged with having disclosed to the “Moment” of Warsaw, secrets regarding the Trans-Jordan negotiations, which is considered by the Labor Party as an unprecedented scandal. The premature publication of the Trans-Jordan negotiations are considered by them as having been the cause of the Arab agitation, particularly as the Arab press gave wide publicity to the report when disclosed. It is felt by them that the premature disclosure has proved harmful to further negotiations for the lease of Trans-Jordan lands.
Following a conference between the Mizrachi Executive in Jerusalem and Mr. Farbstein, the Mizrachi Executive informed the J.T.A. that it wholly disregards the allegations made against Mr. Farbstein. The Mizrachi Executive declares that they see in these charges pre-election maneouvres by the Labor Party to attack the Mizrachi at the forthcoming Zionist Congress. They add that they do not intend to recall Mr. Farbstein from his seat on the Zionist Executive.
