In one of the largest Jewish demonstrations this city has ever seen, seventy-five thousand joined in a parade and meeting protesting the treatment of the Jews of Germany and the appointment of Dr. Joseph Goebbels, Nazi Minister of Propaganda and one of Germany’s most virulent anti-Semites, as representative of the Reich at the Century of Progress world’s fair. A mass meeting was held in the plaza of Grant Park. Several minor disturbances occurred.
