Mrs. Alexander S. Langsdorf today delivered an address entitled “Child Study in 1933” before delegates to the tenth biennial assembly of the National Federation of Temple Sisterhoods.
Jewish parents have problems that can best be discussed in Jewish groups, said Mrs. Langsdorf. “The greatest problem is the one of religious training in this irreligious era”, she declared, “and we cannot ignore the difficulties the Jewish child faces due to the growth of race prejudice, intolerance and discrimination.”
The delegates heard another lecture on the youth of today by Dr. A. L. Sachar, a member of the faculty of the University of Illinois, and head of the Hillel Foundation at Champaign, Ill.
“If you interest Jewish children in the dramatic qualities of Jewish cultural values”, stated Dr. Sachar, “you will build up their loyalty.”
