Two Jewish lawyers, Oscar Strauss, 30, and Wilhelm Aron, 22, were shot down and killed in the Dachau concentration camp, the Vorwaerts, organ of the German Social Democrats, which moved its office here after being banned by the Nazis in Germany, reported today. The newspaper stated that according to the press of Munich the number of men shot down in the Dachau concentration camp is now 41.

Strauss’ body, the paper reported, was delivered to his parents for burial in a sealed coffin under the conditions that they would not open the coffin or mention the circumstances surrounding their son’s death.

Similarly, Aron’s body was delivered to his parents, living in Bamberg, Bavaria, in a lead coffin, after they had promised Nazi authorities that they would not pry open the coffin. Many Catholics, out of sympathy with Aron’s parents, attended the funeral. The Bamberg Volksblatt even reproduced passages from the rabbi’s funeral sermon, whereupon Hitlerite officials promptly confiscated the whole issue.
