the Jewish birthrate, which has always been low in Germany. Intermarriage with Christians already has been halted quite effectively by placing the Christian spouse in the Jewish category. Thousands of mixed marriages have been broken up by laws facilitating divorce between these couples. The fact that one of the couple is Jewish is sufficient grounds for divorce in Germany today.
Every channel of propaganda will be impregnated with anti-Jewish sentiment, designed to lower the Jew to a position equal to that of the Negro in the United States, the Race Commissariat informer told me. It is taken for granted that Jews will wish to remain in Germany under these conditions no longer than is necessary.
With records of parentage and race having been kept scrupulously for more than 150 years, all Germans with Jewish blood will be easily traced and mixed blood put into the Jewish category. This process has already begun.
More cruel than any of the measures being adopted against the Jews is that which is disguised as the “Eugenic Program for New Germany.” A group of Aryan judges will decide who are criminals, who are insane, who are prostitutes, as well as children showing these tendencies—and these will all be sterilized, voluntarily or involuntarily. A number of these judges will be drawn from or appointed by the Race Commissariat, an office which, according to the writer’s observations, is principally composed of fanatics who will stop at nothing in their war against Jews.
TOTAL PLAN KEPT SECRET
While the plan for the extermination of the Jews in Germany is being kept secret because of the alarm it might cause abroad, the program is being projected for immediate execution, it is learned. Leaders of Breslau stormtroopers have told this writer that the race purification program is to be inaugurated with the sterilization of every Jew or Jewess marrying an Aryan.
To an American mind, the Nazi plan for the purification of the German race appears fantastic; the Nazi project for a world organization and world persecution of the Jews is absolutely incredible. The writer feels justified in recording this plan only because it comes from executives of the program (mention of whose names would constitute betrayal of confidence), and because actualities in Germany today are just as fantastic and just as unbelievable as that which is here written.
