Six hundred Jewish children of Berlin began today to receive free meals at the Jewish community school as a result of the growing starvation among the Jewish population.

The Berlin Jewish community estimates that there will be at least 1,000 needy Jewish children before the end of October. Most of the children come from the homes of the professionals and employes who lost their livelihood as a result of the discriminations instituted against the Jews by the Nazi regime.

Five thousand marks a month will be required to feed these children, the Jewish community estimates.
