Although no Swastika flag will be displayed, Hans Luther, the German Ambassador, will attend a celebration in connection with the one hundred and twenty-fifth anniversary of the dedication of Zion Church next Sunday morning.
The envoy will be present, in spite of the fact that the Nazi emblem will not be flown, it was explained because of the nature of the occasion, which will be strictly in ecclesiastical event. The American and State flags will be hung outside of the parish house balcony while the Ambassador is on the church premises, it was said.
Ambassador Luther will speak at services in the church, which will be in German, and later will be guest of honor at a lunch on at the Emerson Hotel. Mayer Howard W. Jackson will be among those to greet him.
A few months ago the German Embassy refused to allow a representative to attend a German picnic here when it was learned the Swastika would not be displayed.
