Emma Lazar-off Schaver, first Detroit girl to be accepted for a leading role in opera, was honored here by a representative Jewish gathering at a banquet arranged in her honor by the Ha-levy-Hazomir Singing Society. Mrs. Schaver appeared with the San Carlo Opera Company in the role of Marguerite in “Faust.”
