Openly attacking President Roosevelt and his “Jewish administration”, Liberation, weekly organ of the Silver Shirts, dedicates the front page and much of the inside content of its December 2 issue to a scourging bambasting of the United States Government on the issue of Russian recognition.
Declaring that recognition of Russia came “over the protests of every patriotic society in the United States not now defected by atheistic Jewry,” William Dudley Pelley, editor of the magazine and leader of the Silver Shirts, denounces President Roosevelt with indignities that have seldom been paralleled in criticism of any president of this country.
The leader of the southern Fascist organization, who maintains constant communication with occult powers, (“out of the vastness of the cosmos the Psychic Antennae tunes in on a Voice”, in Pelley’s own words) charges the president with responsibility for “the rapid growth of Communism and the bringing on of the world revolution.” He predicts the swarming in of Communist agents under diplomatic immunity, the “gathering of their Jewish satraps around them,” and the spread of red propaganda to all parts of the country.
The same issue devotes three long pages to the appointment of Henry Morgenthau, Jr. as Secretary of the Treasury, in which the doom of the country is predicted at the hands of the Jewish cabinet member.
Congressman Samuel Dickstein, fraternally referred to as “Sammy” by the publication, also comes in for a vigorous scolding at Liberation’s hands for “spending the taxpayers’ money to hold Congressional hearings—so-called—ferreting out any Hitlerites in the country who can be deported if there is anything technically wrong that can be found in their papers.”
Apparently ignorant of the fact that Mr. Dickstein’s work thus far has been undertaken without government subsidy, Mr. Pelley describes the investigation as a “pretty way for your tax money to be spent.” Mr. Dickstein, operating thus far without authority to subpoena witnesses, is described as persecuting a number of Germans in New York.
Mr. Pelley has recently begun publication of a weekly newspaper, “The Silver Ranger”, in Oklahoma City which supplements Liberation’s attacks upon Jews. The fifth edition of this sheet is enlivened with an article by Paul Revere IV under the heading. “The Jews Are Coming!” He introduces his report with this information: “The ride of Paul Revere, my great-great-great-grandfather, and his shout that the British were coming were so opportune that they changed the course of history. This printed page is intended ###s a substitute for my ancestor’s ###oice from horseback and to be a ###oice in the obscure twilight of ###awn, now, to notify a slumbering ###ation that The Jews Are Coming.”
Mr. Revere points out to readers that an international organization of outstanding Jewish leaders presents the “key to the economic and political riddle before which the whole world is now standing aghast.” He tells of the millions of dollars, greater than any other accumulation of wealth in the world”, (ten billions of dollars, to be exact) to obstruct all remedial measures to the return of prosperity. The Soviet government is designated as the handiwork of this body; and the assassination of three millions of Russians is laid at the door of the Jewish cosmopolitans.
Paul Revere also asserts that the Jews have gone far toward their goal of ruining Christian civilization and ruling all nations of the world. Bernard M. Baruch is named as the Jew in control of the Washington branch of the plot to seize the United States Army and Navy for the Jews.
The balance of Mr. Revere’s statement is devoted to a pessimistic view of the stride being made by Jews to capture the world. He suggests that Russia should be the logical haven for the Jews.
The leading article of the paper claims that “a bunch of Communist Jews surrounding the president will plunge the nation into a morass of inflation, financial bankruptcy, and Communism.”
