Rabbi Joseph Shapiro, newly-elected rabbi of Congregation Poale Zedeck, was installed in his charge before a capacity audience in Temple Poale Zedeck. Every congregation in Pittsburgh and the surrounding suburbs was represented.

The installation address was delivered by Rabbi Bernard Drachman of New York, who was assisted by Rabbi Samuel I. Zar, registrar of the Yeshiva Isaac Elchanan of New York. Adolph Edlis presided.

M. Chaitkin is president of the congregation, which is one of the oldest congregations in Pittsburgh, having been founded more than fifty years ago.
