The Thuringian government today ordered officials not to grant naturalization papers until the applicant had undergone physical and mental tests and had obtained a certificate of purity from the racial department.
More than 130 applicants for naturalization in Thuringia were ordered by the Thuringian Minister of the Interior to prepare for examination on their racial descent. The order is part of a special racial campaign in Thuringia and provides also that all teachers, policemen, and state officials must undergo a compulsory course in racial education, similar to the one taken by all physicians, except the Jews. In the future, it was announced, even judges, social workers and state and municipal employees must all take special courses organized by the racial department of the Thuringian government.
The Thuringian state will also be the first state in Germany to carry out a racial registration of the entire population. All residents must establish their descent sixteen generations back and supply information for the official files.
A racial exhibition has been opened in Munich showing photographs and models of racial Jewish traits. The object of the exhibition is to educate the population how to distinguish between Aryans and non-Aryans.
