Woodmere Synagogue Receives Torah Scroll

Rabbi David Rubin, of the Congregation Sons of Israel, formally accepted a set of Torah scrolls, a bequest of the late Marcus Schiff, on behalf of the congregation. The ceremony took place at the synagogue in the presence of more than 250 persons. Members of Mr. Schiff’s family were present.

Speakers included Rabbi Rubin, Rabbi Irving Miller of the Congregation Shaaray Tefila, in Far Rockaway, and Rabbi Mordecai Schuchatowitz. of the Congregation Shaaray Zedek, in Edgemere. Cantor Harry Kessler rendered a number of vocal solos.
