Aaron Sapiro, New York lawyer on trial here as one of eighteen defendants on racket conspiracy charges continued to act as his onw attorney today, outlining how he organized the laundry business in Chicago.
“It was for the good of the industry”, Sapiro said. “We were trying to build a ral industry here just as they are now attempting to do for many businesses in Washington. We had our little troubles, just as the NRA is having it troubles with chiselers.”
Sapiro declared that he alone was responsible for the acts of the association while he was organizer. He said that Alderman Oscar Nelson, another defendant, had no connection with activities other than as attorney for one of the unions involved.
