Belgian Jews Mourn Albert at Funeral

Belgium’s Jews today joined the nation in mourning King Albert. In many synagogues memorial services were held and rabbinical leaders devoted their sermons to eulogres for the late monarch.

Grand Rabbi Joseph Wiener officially represented Belgian Jewry at Albert’s funeral yesterday. He walked in the procession of royalty from almost every country in Europe who had come to pay fribute to the King.

In the Great Brussels Synagogue Rabbi Amiel delivered a stirring eulogy.

The royal family receied condolences from thousands of Jewish organizations all over the country. Zionist units and Jewish commumnities wired messages of sorrow.
