Norman Bentwich, former Attorney General of Palestine and now chief of the Jewish Affairs Division of the League of Nations refugee body, speaking today at a reception in honor of the Warsaw Chief Rabbi, Dr. Moses Schorr, declared that he had never seen poverty like that of Polish Jewry.

The crisis, he said, demanded action. To the question of whether it was possible to settle 50,000 Jews somewhere, Bentwich declared, “The answer is yes, in Palestine and elsewhere.”
