Set $500 Bail in Brooklyn Kashruth Case

Jack Rosenberg of 402 Sackman street, Brooklyn, manager of the Tel Aviv Provision Company of 551 Morgan avenue, Brooklyn, was released on ###500 bail yesterday by Magistrate Gasper J. Liota of the Fifth District Magistrate’s Court in Brooklyn on charges of violating the state kosher law. The case was put over to the Court of Special Sessions.

George Ringler, newly appointed supervisor in the State Department of Agriculture and Markets in charge of the state kosher law, is the complainant. Rosenberg was arrested Wednesday.

Ringler charges seventy-three pieces of pickled pastrami, weighing 329 pounds, were transported from the Majestic Provision Company, 209-211 Lewis street, a non-kosher firm, to the Tel Aviv Provision Company for sale as a kosher meat product.

Rosenberg pleaded not guilty yesterday and waived examination.
