Memory of Kaminska of Polish Yiddish Stage Honored by Thespians

In the presence of forty delegates and guests attending a conference of Yiddish actors from every part of Poland here, a wreath was placed today upon the grave of Esther Rachel Kaminska, most famous Yiddish actress of her day.

The conference was greeted on behalf of the Hebrew Actors Union of America by Zalman Zylbercwaig, editor of the Lexicon of the Yiddish Theatre, the first volume of which was published in New York in 1931, and by Michael Michalesko, popular Polish American Yiddish star.

STRAUS SELECTS OFFICERS

Nathan Straus Jr., one of the three chairmen of the New York drive of the United Jewish Appeal Friday announced the following as officers of the Amusement Division:

Nathan Burkan, chairman; Max Gordon, Sam H. Harris, Herman Shumlin, Louis B. Mayer, Harry Warner, Eddie Cantor, George Jessel, Jack Pearl, Phil Baker, Irving Berlin, Sigmund Remberg, Abe Lastfogel, Louis Nizer and William Fergusen.
