Inspired by addresses delivered at the opening banquet by Ludwig Lewisohn and Louis Lipsky, 235 workers were canvassing every Jewish home in the state this week to raise Rhode Island’s $20,000 quota of the $3,000,000 United Jewish Appeal.

More than 200 persons attended the formal start of the campaign held at the Biltmore Hotel. Contributions have already passed the $5,000 mark.
