Friedsam Foundation Gives N.y.u. $25,000 for Fine Arts Dep’t

Gifts and bequests aggregating $61,534.30 were received by New York University during April and May, according to an announcement on Saturday by Chancellor Harry Woodburn Chase.

The donors include:

The Friedsam Foundation, Inc., which gave $25,000 for the support of the Department of Fine Arts during 1934, 1935; George Blumenthal, who donated $9,000 for the appointment of an instructor in Fine Arts; and Percy S. Straus, Esq., who gave $50 for the assistance of an honor student in the College of Fine Arts.

MRS. STERNBERGER SAILS

Mrs. Estelle Sternberger, executive director of the American organization of the World Peace-ways, was scheduled to sail Saturday to Europe on the Berengaria at the invitation of the British Legion and related French and Dutch organizations.
