Dr. Franz Hoellering, German journalist and editor, ousted from the Berliner Zeitung am Mittag, and Aneurin Bevan, young member of the British Parliament and authority on trade union problems are additional witnesses arriving in this country to testify before the American Inquiry Commission which on July 2 and 3 will seek to determine facts of the German situation in regard to court procedure and civil rights.
Bevan came yesterday on the Olympic and Hoellering is due July 1 on the Lafayette. Since his exile from Germany in May Hoellering has managed to visit the Reich secretly. Arthur Garfield Hays, member of the commission, expects him to present competend testimony of the Hitlerite press policy, censorship and general regimentation of all sources of information. He will also testify on the so-called People’s Court, which holds its first session in Germany July 2.
Dr. Kurt Rosenfeld, former Prussian Minister of Justice, is already here and other witnesses from abroad are en route. Members of the commission, in addition to Hays, are George Gordon Battle, U. S. Senator William Costigan, Clarence Darrow, Stanley High, Dudley F. Malone and George Z. Medalie.
